Cabinet lighting: motion sensor or hand wave?
Choose the way the light turns on, then check power and placement.

A dark cupboard can be difficult to use even when its contents are organized. Motion detection and a deliberate hand gesture solve different problems.
Compare how each light starts, how it is powered and where its sensor will sit before choosing a length or color temperature.
Motion detection versus a deliberate gesture
A motion sensor responds to activity within its detection area; opening a door does not guarantee activation in every position. A hand-wave strip requires a deliberate gesture near its sensor. Check modes and shutoff behavior for the selected model.
Power source is a separate decision
The motion-sensor example recharges by USB-C and needs access for charging; run time was not verified. The hand-wave example uses 5 V USB power during operation, and a rechargeable battery was not verified. Plan the cable route and confirm what is supplied.
Leave the sensor room to work
Stored items or a shelf edge can obscure motion detection; do not expect it to see through a closed cabinet door. A gesture sensor must be reachable without bumping nearby objects. Test the planned position before fixing it permanently.
Then choose length, tone and mounting
Measure the available length and leave access to the sensor and charging or power connection. A longer strip is not necessarily more useful. Confirm the light tone and fixing method for the exact option; photographs do not measure brightness.
USB-C rechargeable motion light

A rechargeable strip can illuminate a dry cabinet without a permanently connected cable at the installation point. Position the motion sensor where stored items will not block it.
Limitation: Battery run time and wet-area suitability were not verified.
USB strip with hand-wave control

Move a hand near the sensor to switch the strip deliberately. It requires a 5 V USB power source during use.
Limitation: A rechargeable battery was not verified; it does not turn on merely because someone walks past.
Choose the interaction first
For a dry cupboard, consider whether you want automatic activation or deliberate control. Then check power access, sensor clearance, the chosen length and mounting details. Neither example has verified wet-area suitability.
